Florist (10.25.25)

Emily Sprague, Rick Spataro, Jonnie Baker and Felix Walworth make up Florist, a New York City based band. Florist formed in 2013 in Albany, New York, not far from Bard College, where Sprague and Walworth met and began playing music together. Florist is known for their intimate yet fearless folk music that grapples with nature, grief, love and solitude. This year, the band released their fifth studio album, Jellywish, a folk album filled to the brim with wonder and curiosity about the human condition. Sprague’s openness in her songwriting and delivery encourages listeners to join her in finding meaning in the mundane, or in her own words, “to look at this place as if [you’ve] never seen it.” Be sure to come to the Horn Gallery at 9pm on Saturday, the 25th 2025 to hear Florist** perform live with opener Aidan Puntes and, in the meantime, give this playlist of Florist essentials put together by Sara, Nina and Liv a listen:
