Sad Cowboy

Howdy partner,

Grab your cowboy hat, your chaps, your spurs, and buck up for the saddest playlist East of the Mississippi. This is a playlist  for all the cowboys out there who have lost their partners and are traveling by their lonesome through the wild, wild West we call life. So, take a swig of your favorite moonshine and press play. Listen to it from start to finish and shuffle at your own risk. “New Partner” by Palace Music, the track that inspired this playlist, sets the mood by telling the story of a cowboy who has a new partner, but his old one is “always on [his] mind.” Toward the middle, you’ll find two more cowboy themed songs rolling your way like tumbleweeds: “Analog Cowboys” by Boom Forest and “God is an Indian and You’re an Asshole” by Modest Mouse. If you were a fan of “Baby Teeth” or “Analog Cowboys” check out some other songs by Boom Forest. I highly recommend their albums Post Knight Errant and Boom Forest. They deserve more love than they get. The playlist finishes with “Honey, It’s Alright” by Gregory Alan Isakov. Because it is… I hope.
