"Happy Blogidays": a holiday playlist
For me, this season tends to hold an essence of fragility. Moving in transit for the holidays; waiting for soundless snow to drop — there’s a sense of holding as we anticipate the changing of the year.
Through that, it’s always nice to have a soundtrack. I tend toward Andy Shauf’s The Party when driving home for Thanksgiving or winter break; when returning. Something about how it takes in the world and pushes it back out to you. I think that’s the power of a holiday soundtrack, too. When you get a sonic grounding for something that hangs in the air, like snowfall or the values that uphold a holiday tradition, it heightens your experience; enhances it.
All that rambling to say, this time of year is singular and holds magic. You start your new beginnings by preparing for an end, and that cycle never gets old. Here’s a playlist curated by WKCO Blog, for this tried-and-true closing. Enjoy!
