Are you feeling squirrely? Do you like cheese? If you answered yes to any of those questions, then we have the playlist for you. As the title insinuates, this is a collection of songs for all rodents out there. Mice, rats, squirrels, and even possums are included (we do not discriminate). The playlist begins with mice in mind, and the song that inspired it all, “The Mouse Inside My Brain.” We lead into squirrels with the iconic song, “S.I.M.P.”, also known as “Squirrels in My Pants.” Shea’s favorite off the playlist is “Longport,” by Active Bird Community, which is about a small squirrel in a large world. There’s a brief possum intermission followed by some crazy hamster songs. Believe us when we say they’re crazy... We wander into the world of obscure rodents, such as the vansire, which is a creature native to Madagascar that has no Wikipedia page. Before the finale is the “Ratatouille Main Theme,” beckoning us toward our rat conclusion. Here we have two songs by everyone’s (especially Maddie’s) favorite rodent band, Modest Mouse. And that is where your rodent journey ends. We hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed curating.
